Basler
Embedded vision made easy
At embedded world 2021 DIGITAL, Basler is working with partners such as NXP and NVIDIA to simplify the path to the final embedded vision solution for customers.
As a highlight at the trade fair, which takes place digitally from 1 to 5 March, the company is presenting a processing kit for embedded vision: the board developed by Basler itself is optimized for a wide range of vision applications in terms of both hardware and software. Thanks to its design developed for industrial use, the development kit can be used for prototyping as well as in series production.
Basler has developed a vision system for machine learning (ML) applications for the i.MX 8M Plus SoC from NXP, which will be available from mid-March and is characterized by a particularly lean architecture, according to the supplier: The specially designed Basler dart communicates seamlessly with the ISP (Image Signal Processor) while offering real-time image processing.
Basler has created additional interfaces for NVIDIA's edge computing platform Jetson, so that the two 5 and 13 MP add-on camera kits are now not only compatible with the Jetson Nano, but also with the more powerful Jetson Xavier NX as standard. Add-on Camera Kits are ready-to-use vision extensions that include an adapter board in addition to the camera and offer the most cost-effective prototyping approach.
