Basler
Acquisition in Korea
Computer vision provider Basler is taking over its two Korean trading partners Datvision and Iovis, thereby expanding its direct business in Asia. The acquisitions are an important step in the company's growth strategy.
Basler has announced the acquisition of its long-standing distribution partners Datvision and Iovis in Korea. The differently structured acquisitions are each expected to take place on January 7, 2022. With these transactions, the computer vision manufacturer is further expanding its direct business in Asia, having already acquired the distributor MVLZ in China three years ago. The company is also taking a further step in its expansion strategy and in expanding its product portfolio to become a full-range supplier.
Datvision recently employed around ten people in Korea. The company sells image processing components and solutions for various industries, primarily in the semiconductor and electronics markets. Iovis, which is based in Seoul, recently had over 40 employees and distributed an extensive portfolio of vision components from various manufacturers.
The two companies are to be merged with the existing Basler Korea team in the near future.
