BV Directive is internationally recognized
The international G3 initiative for standardization recommends the VDI/VDE/VDMA 2632 Sheet 2 guideline presented by the VDMA as a guideline for creating a specification sheet and a requirements specification in industrial image processing.
As an international consortium, the G3 initiative has confirmed the benefits for fast and targeted project management when integrating image processing systems into measurement and automation solutions. Their unanimous decision: the guideline is recommended for use by association members as a G3 standard - as is the case with EMVA 1288, GenICam, Camera Link and GigE Vision.
In line with international recognition, the guideline will be available in an English/Chinese language version from April 2017. Together with the German/English edition, the guideline supports the handling of projects with international partners. This means that there is now an internationally recognized, common understanding of the need for clarification between project partners. The guideline also helps to reduce language barriers: The paragraphs appear directly next to each other in both languages. The tables are structured in the same way in each language. This simplifies the allocation of topics across languages.
In the G3 initiative, important associations active in the field of industrial image processing have joined forces to form an international consortium. G3 members include the North American association AIA-Advancing Vision+Imaging, the China Machine Vision Union (CMVU), the European Machine Vision Association(EMVA), the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA) and the German EngineeringFederation (VDMA).
The VDI/VDE/VDMA 2632 Part 2 "Industrial image processing; guidelines for the creation of a specification sheet and a requirements specification" is published by the VDI/VDE Society for Measurement and Automation Technology (GMA).
