Cognex acquires ViDi Systems
The Swiss company ViDi Systems SA will in future be part of Cognex Corporation. ViDi Systems is a provider of "deep learning" software for industrial image processing.
The Swiss company ViDi Systems SA will in future be part of Cognex Corporation. ViDi Systems is a provider of deep learning software for industrial image processing.
ViDi Systems will become part of Cognex's Vision Products Business Unit, where the deep learning software will be further developed and integrated into the existing product portfolio. The ViDi team is at the forefront of applying deep learning techniques to real-world machine vision challenges, says Robert J. Willett, CEO of Cognex.
ViDi Systems was founded in 2012 by Dr. Reto Wyss and the CPA Group and is based in Villaz-St.-Pierre, Switzerland. Dr. Wyss and the ViDi team will remain with Cognex, and the business activities at the Swiss site will also continue.
