Transmit signals at speeds of up to 10 Gbps
Hirose has developed the robust ix Industrial connector series, which is designed for industrial applications where space is at a premium and signals need to be transmitted at speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
Compared to RJ45 solutions, this connector series reduces the required installation space by up to 75%, according to the supplier. Thanks to an optimized EMC/ESD shielding concept for secure and protected data transmission, the connector series for I/O applications supports cabling in accordance with CAT5e (1 Gbps) and CAT6A (10 Gbps) standards, according to Hirose . With two available coding variants for Ethernet and non-Ethernet applications, the connectors for I/O applications meet the requirements of IEC/PAS 61076-3-124.
The horizontal PCB socket can be mounted in parallel with a spacing of just 10 mm, whereby the narrow width of the socket is particularly advantageous when many connectors are positioned next to each other on a single PCB. The vertical socket allows plugging from above. The PCB socket is attached to the PCB via THT pins. The connectors are available as IDC and soldered versions.
The cable connection and strain relief are integrated in a connector housing, which protects the electrical contacting of the cable assembly from the effects of force on the cable.
