Harting and Hirose - Cooperation on 10Gbit Ethernet
Harting Electronics from Espelkamp and Hirose Electric have agreed on the joint development, product standardization and marketing of a miniaturized connection technology system for 10Gbit Ethernet.
In the course of global digitalization through the Internet of Things and Services, Philip Harting is convinced that the miniaturization of components and interfaces in connection technology is a decisive factor: "Industry 4.0 as a manifestation of the Internet of Things needs one thing above all: an Ethernet connection to every Industry 4.0 component," says the CEO of the Harting Technology Group. Harting continues: "The standardization and international standardization of new high-performance components and infrastructures is an indispensable prerequisite for market success and offers planning security."
On the other hand, Hirose Electric offers miniaturized connector solutions such as Micro-USB (USB2.0, 3.0 and 3.1) for small portable devices such as cell phones, tablets and cameras. In this way, Hirose has contributed to the miniaturization and high-speed transmission of electronic devices.
In response to the challenging and increasing demand for global digitalization technology, both partners have now agreed to combine their strengths. The result should be the development of a new miniaturized and at the same time more robust Ethernet interface for high data rates. The companies plan to announce further details of the cooperation at electronica and SPS IPC Drives in the fall.
