Modular cable entry system
Pflitsch has launched the 'CABseal' series, a modular cable entry system for inserting pre-assembled cables and wires into control cabinets and enclosures.
The Pflitsch system consists of four different frame sizes - suitable for the usual standard cut-outs in switch cabinet construction up to 115 mm x 46 mm. These frames can be variably equipped with four, six, eight or ten grommet fields. This allows a maximum of 40 cables with a diameter of up to 6 mm to be sealed. The tongue and groove contour of the cable grommets prevents incorrect installation and ensures stability. Cable grommets with flexible sealing lip geometry are available in GS sizes for cables with a diameter of 3 to 16 mm and as GL for 16 to 33 mm. Double and quadruple grommets enable increased packing density. The CABseal grommets can be flexibly positioned in the frame. The sealing range of up to 1.6 mm and the flexible sealing lip geometry can compensate for cable tolerances of up to 0.4 mm and ensure that the cable is sealed to the high protection rating of IP66/UL Type 4X. A strain relief tab can optionally be used with cable ties to increase the strain relief and securely fix the installed cables.
The CABseal frames made of glass fiber-reinforced polyamide have a molded elastomer seal so that no additional flat seal is required at the enclosure cut-out. This seals the frame against the surface of the enclosure to IP66. The installation height of 20 mm results in a space-saving installation, while flush-fitting grommets ensure a completely sealed surface without beading or edges.
The cable entry system is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications in the temperature range from -40 to +100 °C. The materials used are halogen-free, silicone-free and UV-resistant, comply with current RoHS regulations and UL 94: V0 fire protection class. The cable entry system is also UL listed. Blanking grommets and plugs are available as accessories to securely close off unused fields. An optional installation aid simplifies the insertion of the cable grommets if required.
