Electric Vespa from Piaggio
Production of the cult scooter with electric drive
Piaggio starts production of the 'Vespa Elettrica' in September 2018 - including innovative man-machine networking. The electric version of the famous scooter is manufactured at the Pontedera plant in the province of Pisa.
The 'Vespa Elettrica' will be gradually launched onto the market from the end of October. The electric drive should have a peak output of 4 kW (continuous output of 2 kW) - the maximum torque is specified as 200 Nm. The lithium-ion battery installed under the seat, in combination with an energy recovery system (KERS), should enable a range of 100 km - with a charging time of 4 hours.
A 4.3-inch display in the cockpit can be linked to the smartphone and enables various functions.
The vehicles can be booked online from the beginning of October. The series version of the 'Vespa Elettrica' will then be presented at EICMA 2018.
