Dr. Degener will take up his duties on 1 January 2019 at the latest and will have overall responsibility for the Finance division. Since 2004, he has been responsible for finance in the management of the Baden-Württemberg-based machine tool manufacturer Chiron. Prior to that, Dr. Degner held various management positions, including Managing Director/CFO at LOI Thermprocess GmbH, an associated company of Ruhrgas Industries GmbH, where he was responsible for the turnaround of the company into a sustainably positive earnings position.

Christian Wendler, Chairman of the Lenze Executive Board, said: "On behalf of my colleagues on the Executive Board, I would like to expressly thank Dr. Schmidt for his many years of excellent work. We regret his departure, but at the same time we are delighted to have gained an experienced financial expert with excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering in Dr. Achim Degner."

Dr. Yorck Schmidt joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in January 2011. From 2013 to the end of 2017, he was also responsible for global purchasing, production and logistics from the Operations board department and, among other things, launched and drove forward the strategically important topic of 'Operational Excellence'. The service strategy was also clearly defined and Lenze North America was strategically realigned.
