Turnover at a new record level
Despite global crises, the ifm Group's business is on a successful growth path. Record turnover and employment levels were achieved in the past financial year.
With sales of over 1.37 billion euros, a sales record was achieved that was 18% higher than the previous year. The Group also benefited from positive exchange rates. Earnings (EBIT) of 7.6% (previous year: 10.6%) were better than planned despite considerable additional costs due to inflation and supply chain factors. "On average, we produce and deliver over 70,000 products per day to our customers," said Christoph von Rosenberg, CFO of the ifm Group, citing another impressive figure at the presentation of the 2022 balance sheet figures. In total, this amounted to around 26 million products last year. R&D expenditure was increased in line with turnover, so that the ratio remains at 10%. More than 100 new patents were registered in 2022, with the number of actively used patents standing at 1,170. And last but not least, the total workforce at the end of the year was around 8,750 employees worldwide - an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. In Germany, more than 5,270 employees work for ifm.
Von Rosenberg is also positive about the outlook for the current financial year: "For the current financial year 2023, we are confident that we will be able to continuously improve material procurement, so we expect a good increase in sales. The first quarter of 2023, which has just been completed, confirms our assumptions."
