Hackathons have now established themselves worldwide as a form of event. IT enthusiasts get together for a few hours or days and work on one or more problems relating to computer science and IT. ifm has also held hackathons in the past, most recently in 2022 on the topic of 'Green Production'. This year, the company is inviting interested parties from various sectors to the 'innovate-a-thon' at The Summit innovation center in Siegen.

The hackathon will focus on two topics: In a technology challenge, the best programming language for a specific problem will be sought. Participants are divided into teams and compete against each other with their favorite tech stack, be it Rust, TypeScript or Blazor. In the area of IT security, the focus is on the cyber security of the 'moneo' platform.

The teams work on specific tasks depending on their focus. After technical onboarding, they then regularly present their interim results in order to gain new impetus from the group's feedback.
