Scans an area of up to 200 m²

With the 'TiM2xx' product family, Sick is expanding its range to include 2D LiDAR sensors for localization and anti-collision applications. The TiM240 is the first variant in the series and complies with protection class IP65 for indoor use.

The 'TiM240' scans an area of up to 200 m² 15 times per second. According to the provider, this allows the user to cover a relatively large room with one scanner, detect the smallest changes in the room thanks to the high scanning rate and transmit these quickly to the control system via Ethernet.
HDDM+ technology ensures stable and reliable measurement data output. The low power consumption of 2.9 W is particularly advantageous when used in battery-powered vehicles. The LiDAR sensor weighs just 150 g and measures 75.8 mm x 79.7 mm x 60 mm (HxDxW). The series comprises the TiM1xx, TiM3xx, TiM5xx and TiM7xx product families.
In addition to industrial applications such as mobile automation, new fields of application for 2D LiDAR sensors are emerging - for example in the field of smart, interactive media, such as virtual nature walls or games.
