Both variants have a compact shape and analog and IO-Link interfaces; there are differences in the design and area of application: according to Balluff, the magnetostrictive sensor in the mini-rod design is particularly suitable for use in hydraulic cylinders for position feedback, in forming and rolling systems or for lifting and hoisting technology. It is also used in injection molding machines and for monitoring the tilt angle of rotor blades in wind turbines. The BTL A1/PF series in profile design (image) is particularly suitable for use in controlling hydraulic presses in the field of forming technology or for controlling and monitoring travel movements on machine parts. It is particularly suitable for use in injection molding machines in the plastics industry.
