Industry 4.0 meets intralogistics

From March 14 to 16, the Stuttgart Exhibition Center will open its doors for the 15th edition of Logimat. Under the motto "Shaping change: Digital - Connected - Innovative", the trade fair for distribution, material and information flow is all about Industry 4.0 and IoT.

In 2016, 43,466 visitors came to Logimat in Stuttgart - an increase of 23.8% compared to the previous year.

Once again, the intralogistics trade fair has occupied all eight exhibition halls at the Stuttgart exhibition center with 50,000m2 of net exhibition space - the trade fair was already fully booked in autumn 2016. With more than 1,300 exhibitors, an increase of around 5% compared to the previous year, and an exhibitor share of 23.5% from companies based outside of Germany, the trade fair underscores its position as "the leading international trade fair for intralogistics", according to Peter Kazander, Managing Director of Euroexpo Messe- und Kongress, the organizer of Logimat.

In Halls 1, 3 and 5, system and plant manufacturers will be showcasing their latest developments, products and innovations for coordinated material flows. The focus there will be on complete systems, storage and picking systems with new concepts and solutions that are increasingly holistic and autonomously handle the transportation of goods in the warehouse. Another key group of exhibitors and innovators are the developers and providers of logistics software. They will be represented with their innovations, systems, modules and functional scopes for efficient process control, data networking and information processing in Hall 5 and the entire Hall 7. Halls 4 and 6 are once again traditionally occupied by suppliers of marking and identification technology as well as packaging and handling systems.

New this year is a joint stand for start-ups in the intralogistics sector in Hall 6, Stand 6C61, with ten young companies taking part. The supporting program has proven itself: this year there will be a total of 34 information events - including 31 specialist forums with more than 100 speakers and three serial live events.
