The couplers are particularly suitable for applications in the washdown area with especially high hygienic requirements. They work in the extended operating temperature range of -25 to +85 °C. Other features include a robust stainless steel housing that meets the requirements of protection class IP69K, as well as Ecolab and UL approval. Users can also transmit up to 2 A continuous output current without contact. The inductive couplers follow on from the "BIC M30" couplers that Balluff launched on the market in 2021 and which are primarily used in robotics applications for controlling gripper arms or in flexible production islands and packaging machines. Thanks to the IO-Link interface, both variants offer a smooth, transparent and fast exchange of data between the IO-Link device and IO-Link master as well as the power supply for sensors and actuators. The second IO-Link channel can be used for process and diagnostic data and therefore for status monitoring.
