Gateways now also available as Modbus couplers
The interfaces of the GW4101 IoTmaxx gateways are now also available to users via Modbus RTU and TCP for communication with the process control system.
The gateways represent a cost-effective and space-saving plug-and-play solution and, according to the provider, are therefore also an efficient alternative to conventional devices, which is an advantage when planning and setting up new systems as well as for upgrades or conversions. The Modbus server application is pre-installed on all new devices from the manufacturer; IoTmaxx provides customers with an update for older devices. The gateways with Modbus server open up a wide range of possibilities for system and control cabinet builders when planning new projects in the smallest of spaces. The GW4101 mobile radio gateway including sensor board, for example, only takes up 5 cm on the DIN rail and already offers a large selection of interfaces. The sensor interface extension provides the following interfaces: 4 x 4-20 mA, wire interface, 4 x RTD (Pt100/PT1000), 16 digital inputs and six digital outputs. This means that various sensor data such as temperatures, humidity, vibrations and switching statuses can also be queried via Modbus for processing in the process control system. In addition, the gateways can also be used as remote Modbus couplers.
