Generational change in the Management Board and Supervisory Board

Sick will bid farewell to Dr. Robert Bauer as Chairman of the Management Board on September 30, 2021. His move to the top of the Sick Supervisory Board is planned for May 2022 to take over from Klaus M. Bukenberger.

Dr. Mats Gökstorp, responsible for Products & Marketing since 1 January 2021, will succeed Dr. Bauer as Chairman of the Executive Board on 1 October 2021. At the same time, Dr. Niels Syassen will be appointed to the company's Executive Board. He will take over responsibility for Technology & Digitalization from Dr Bauer.

Dr. Mats Gökstorp succeeds Dr. Robert Bauer as CEO of Sick as of October 1, 2021.

Dr. Gökstorp joined the company in 2003 with the acquisition of Sick IVP. As a member of the Executive Board, the native Swede was responsible for vision products from 2007 and later for sales processes within the Group before being appointed to the Executive Board for Sales & Service on May 1, 2013. In recent years, he has been responsible for the global alignment of sales structures.

Dr Niels Syassen will take over responsibility for the Technology & Digitalization division on Sick's Executive Board from 1 October 2021.

Dr. Syassen has been responsible for innovations for gas and particle analysis solutions as a member of the Executive Board since 2018. Before joining Sick in 2017, he held various management positions in product development at Bosch in the Automotive Electronics division and at Dräger Safety in the field of industrial gas measurement technology.

Dr. Robert Bauer joined the company in 1994 as Head of Research and Development Automation Technology. From 1998, he held overall responsibility for research and development on the management board. He was appointed to the Management Board on January 1, 2000 and became Chairman of the Management Board on October 1, 2006. At the request of the owner family, he will succeed Klaus M. Bukenberger as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sick in May 2022. Klaus M. Bukenberger has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2002 and Chairman since 2005. As part of the generational change on the Supervisory Board, he will not stand for re-election to the Supervisory Board in May 2022 after 20 years of service.

From 1 October 2021, Sick's Management Board will consist of Dr Mats Gökstorp (Chairman of the Management Board, Products & Marketing), Feng Jiao (Sales & Service), Dr Martin Krämer (HR & Legal), Dr Niels Syassen (Technology & Digitalization), Markus Vatter (Controlling, Finance & IT) and Dr Tosja Zywietz (Operations).
