Detailed analysis functions

The IO-Link-capable radar sensors of the newly developed LRS series complement Turck's portfolio for level measurement in the range from 0.35 to 10 m.

The devices with IP67/69K protection are particularly suitable for level applications in factory automation where optical or ultrasonic sensors are unsuitable due to their limited range or interference factors such as dust, wind or incidence of light. In addition, the free-radiating radar sensors offer detailed analysis functions that were previously reserved for the high-end radar sensors mostly used in the process industry.

The absence of a metal guide rod makes them ideal for use in hygienic areas and simplifies commissioning. The operating unit of the series with capacitive buttons and translucent front cap follows the concept of Turck 's Fluid 2.0 sensor platform and enables the output of distance, level and volume values.

The 'LRS' sensors are available either with two switching outputs or with one switching and one analog output. Thanks to their additional IO-Link interface and the intelligent, decentralized signal pre-processing, all variants also provide numerous additional information for processing in condition monitoring applications in the IIoT: in addition to the signal strength, this includes temperature values, operating hours or switching cycles.
