Mr. Keller, qualifying as an expert in the field of machine safety - can you tell us what's behind this?

Tobias Keller: In addition to safety technology components and systems, the solutions offered by Schmersal also include comprehensive services as well as training courses and seminars, which we offer under the Tec.nicum brand. We have noticed that our customers not only want seminars on specific topics in the field of machine safety, but also a more comprehensive and recognized qualification. With our qualification program "Machinery CE Expert with TÜV Rheinland Certified Qualification", our partners and customers can train to become experts in machinery safety.

What is special about this qualification?

We have developed this seminar and its content based on decades of experience and had it certified by TÜV Rheinland. The four-day course provides all the knowledge required to implement a CE conformity assessment procedure for machines and systems with all relevant sub-steps. In this compact form and with this comprehensive knowledge transfer, the seminar is virtually unique on the market and therefore attractive for companies in terms of time and cost.

How do participants benefit from the training? How do companies benefit?

Companies gain in-house expertise in machine safety so that safety aspects can already be taken into account during the planning and construction or conversion of machines. This is a clear advantage, not least from an efficiency point of view. Following an examination conducted by TÜV Rheinland, participants receive an internationally recognized certificate and are entitled to use the title "Machinery CE Expert with TÜV Rheinland Certified Qualification". Proof of qualification is provided by a certificate issued by TÜV and also by optional entry in the online certificate database "Certipedia".

What content is covered in particular?

The seminar essentially deals with the relevant European directives and standards, the identification of hazards on machines as part of a risk assessment, functional safety on machines and finally the CE conformity assessment including the technical documentation.
