Cooperation for secure digital rail infrastructure

The automation company Pilz and the provider of safe rail infrastructure Pintsch are entering into a development partnership. Together, the companies will develop solutions for the digitalization of railroad infrastructure in the future.

The combination of Pilz 's industry-proven control solutions and Pintsch's railroad safety expertise is intended to create solutions that will help modernize the railroad infrastructure in Germany and Europe. Pintsch is a supplier of safety-critical components, systems and solutions for rail infrastructure. Its portfolio includes level crossing technology, signaling and safety technology, interlocking and conveyor technology as well as axle counting and point machines.

Susanne Kunschert, Managing Partner of Pilz, and Tilo Brandis, Managing Director of Pintsch, sealed the development partnership at InnoTrans in Berlin on 21 September 2022. "With the 'Digital Rail Germany' program and the planned investment by the German government, the demand for innovative, digital solutions will increase sustainably. We are delighted to have Pintsch, one of the most renowned and experienced partners, at our side to develop and offer further solutions for safe, digital rail infrastructure," explains Susanne Kunschert and adds: "This cooperation is an important success for our newly established Rail business unit."

"The digitalization and automation of signalling technology is a basic prerequisite for increasing the capacity of rail infrastructure. With the cooperation with Pilz, Pintsch is breaking new ground here," adds Tilo Brandis.
