Hitex and Escrypt cooperate

Safety for smart factories

With the increasing networking of manufacturing processes, embedded security is becoming indispensable in the production environment. Hitex and Escrypt have joined forces to offer their customers the security they need.

Industrial control systems should benefit from the new software stack with immediate effect.

Networked and intelligent factories place increased demands on IT security. The growing networking and addressability of systems via IP increases the risk of unauthorized access to control software or sensitive company data.

As a provider of embedded products for industry, Hitex focuses its tools and engineering services explicitly on the security of the systems in addition to functional safety. To this end, the embedded specialist is now cooperating with Escrypt and equipping current Aurix microcontrollers from Infineon with the CycurHSM software stack.

This is how it works: The security functions are physically encapsulated on the microcontroller in a separate hardware security module (HSM). The host controller can therefore devote itself fully to its actual tasks. At the same time, CycurHSM performs the necessary security functions on the HSM - data encryption and authentication, secure booting, flashing and debugging or even runtime manipulation detection (RMD). RMD in particular monitors the authenticity of the application software during runtime.
