Fuzzy Logic Robotics is announcing the first version of the Fuzzy Studio software platform for the Hannover Messe 2021 - a product designed to make robots more flexible in production.
To date, only small areas of robot-assisted production - such as pick-and-place tasks - can be controlled by non-experts. The vast majority of robotics and cobotics applications require complex and heterogeneous software tools that can only be operated by qualified specialists.
If an employee is to use these software tools, they must first acquire the relevant specialist knowledge in costly and time-consuming training courses. As a rule, these training courses and other services account for over 75% of the total cost of a robot. In flexible production, the balance is even less favorable: Here, employee qualification sometimes accounts for over 90% of the total costs. This means that the investment in a robot system is often not worthwhile.
Fuzzy Logic Robotics is now introducing an intuitive platform for all production areas that is designed to reduce robot programming costs by 90%.
With this platform, called Fuzzy Studio, even complex applications such as dispensing or welding can be easily automated. This is because the software is as intuitive and easy to use as a video game. The Studio has a standard interface for all common robot brands - from ABB, Fanuc and Kuka to Stäubli and Universal Robots.
The tool covers a wide range of tasks that can arise in a robot cell: from pre-project planning, design and commissioning to real-time production control, in-system programming and maintenance.
The robot library
The user has access to a library containing all robot models from various manufacturers. Various search filters can be set to simplify the workflow. By importing true-to-original and interactive CAD and 3D objects, the user can quickly design the desired robot system. Over 40 formats are supported, including the STEP and IGES formats widely used in industry.
Users can also select the right application for their business from a range of tool options from leading manufacturers. Users can also import their own gripper solutions. All supported tools are plug-and-play compatible.
Create tool paths
There is no need for confusing lines of code or coordinate systems: tool paths can be created visually. Subsequent changes can also be made in real time. 3D CAD objects can therefore be transferred to the design using the drag & drop function. The stored algorithms automatically generate tool paths that avoid collisions, save time, improve performance and increase safety.
Exchange of robots
Using the company's own algorithms, users can replace a robot in all areas of production with just two clicks and thus find the right solution for the task at hand. All tool paths and work sequences are automatically recalculated. Any difficulties can be easily rectified. Thanks to the deterministic real-time control algorithms, everything that the simulation shows can also be implemented. Every task can be transferred to the robot with a single click. - This closes the gap between simulation and reality.
The company
Fuzzy Logic Robotics emerged from some of the leading robotics research institutes in France and was founded by a French-American team of robotics experts. The founders were looking for new ways to control and program the next generation of robotic applications. Based on the specifications of a customer in the audiovisual industry, the company founders developed software that allows industrial robots to be operated by untrained users. Based on the experience gained in this customer segment, Fuzzy Logic Robotics is now transferring this knowledge to the industrial sector.
