ABB has appointed Jörg Rommelfanger as the new Head of the Robotics division in Germany with effect from January 1, 2022. As Head of the Automotive business line, the 48-year-old will also be responsible for the Robotics division's automotive and supplier business in Germany.
Jörg Rommelfanger succeeds Jörg Reger, who has had overall responsibility for the Automotive business line at a global level since January 1, 2022.
In addition to expanding the core business, one of Rommelfanger's most important tasks in his new role will be to open up new sectors and business areas that previously had little or no automation, including logistics and healthcare. Rommelfanger can look back on more than 20 years of experience in the robotics and automation industry. After holding positions at carat robotic innovation and KraussMaffei Technologies, he started his career at ABB in 2012, after which he held various management positions at local and global level.
