Comau has launched an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) platform for use in both the manufacturing and non-manufacturing industries. Agile1500 is the first automated transport system within the AGV platform.
As a modular, scalable and fully reconfigurable system, it can transport up to 1500 kg at a maximum speed of 1.7 m/s. With these features, the AGV can simplify core activities such as just-in-time and just-in-sequence production and also optimize in-plant logistics processes, for example. Thanks to various safety functions and an integrated laser scanner, which stops the AGV as soon as an obstacle appears in its path, the system can improve overall plant safety.
