Connection from sensor to cloud

The IoT Gateway 30 is a multifunctional gateway from Weidmüller that, among other things, creates the frequently required connection from the sensor to the cloud.

By capturing and pre-processing machine data, it also ensures that operating costs remain low, as every message that is sent costs money. Thanks to the cellular connection, the gateway can be used anywhere, regardless of the existing infrastructure. Weidmüller uses the 4G LTE standard for this. Data pre-processing is carried out using the open IoT standard Node-RED - already integrated in the gateway. This allows users to implement their own application programming or use the ready-made functions of the community.

Field devices and controllers are accessed via interfaces and protocols such as Modbus RTU, TCP, OPC UA, MQTT or RFC1006. For further use, the data is sent to the company's own IT or to cloud systems such as Azure, AWS and IBM. The 'u-link Remote Access Service' is also integrated for fast and secure access to machines and systems. For use outside the control cabinet, the gateway can be installed in a protected FieldPower-Box.
