Connecting Wireless Sensors and Analog Control Systems

Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK) has reintroduced the "WSDA-101" wireless gateway to the market.

The wireless gateway is particularly well-suited for applications that require predictable analog signals with low latency (such as structural health monitoring, equipment performance monitoring, PLC-based system control, or environmental monitoring). The device offers eight independently configurable analog output channels and provides 0-to-3-V(DC) signals. This approach enables the use of wireless sensor data in time-critical applications—including control loops, torque monitoring, and real-time process feedback—without the need for custom hardware or complex system integration. The gateway can operate as a standalone device or in parallel with a host computer via USB. Configuration, monitoring, and data acquisition are managed using the “SensorConnect” software. In addition to analog output operation, wireless LXRS communication is supported when the analog output mode is disabled.
