TFT displays almost at OLED level

Data Modul took a new approach to controlling the LED backlight of a TFT. The result is a TFT series with Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) technology.

The TFT series with FALD technology achieves a picture performance that comes very close to an OLED. The advantages of FALD technology compared to conventional backlight technology are OLED-level contrast and color, superior image quality and excellent readability even in sunlight. In addition, power consumption is significantly lower compared to similarly bright displays. This makes the new series ideal for the automotive industry, medical imaging or marine applications.

The first display in this series is the 7" WUXGA display, which has a high contrast with 360 zones and an ultra-wide color space of 105% DCI-P3. The 10-bit panel with MIPI interface has a typical brightness of 1,800 cd/m² at an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +70 °C and has an InCell touch.
Data Modul is also planning to expand its FALD range in the medium term with a 10.1" FHD display as well as 13.3", 17.3" and 24" UHD displays. All displays are offered in combination with a suitable HDMI (or DP input) control card for signal and backlight control.
