Transmitter
Calibrated measuring range switching
The Proline P50000 series transmitters were specially developed by Knick for voltage and current measurement on the main and secondary circuits of locomotives and multiple units:
They are used, for example, to detect short circuits and monitor traction converters or traction motors, auxiliary converters and accumulator batteries. The devices comply with all relevant railroad standards and therefore meet the high requirements for fire protection (HL3 in accordance with EN 45545-2 (2016)), electrical safety, mechanical robustness and resistance to extreme environmental conditions and EMC influences. The models offer calibrated measuring range switching and an integrated universal power supply unit. The calibrated measuring range switching allows the flexible selection of different input ranges up to ±4200 V. After switching, the specified accuracy (<0.1 % of full scale + 0.1 % of full scale) is maintained without recalibration. In combination with a shunt resistor, the device is suitable for precise current measurement down to the kA range. A device design with covered high-voltage terminals ensures protection against accidental contact.
