Aimed at safety-oriented applications
With the BML05RP, Balluff offers a magnetically coded position measuring system especially for safety-related applications.
It is certified by TÜV Rheinland and has a safe analog and a safe absolute SSI or BISS-C interface. Thanks to its measuring length of 48 m and its repeatability of <1 μm, the system is suitable for many applications, according to Balluff. It supports the 'safe incremental value' and 'safe absolute value' functions.
The sensor can be used in safety-related applications up to Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL 2) in accordance with EN 61800-5-2/EN 62061/IEC 61508 and Performance Level d (PL d) in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1.
