Significant increase in visitors achieved
The 2016 edition of the Hannover Messe ended on April 29 with a significant increase in visitor numbers compared to 2014. The organizer is particularly proud of the many concrete application examples for Industry 4.0.
Over 190,000 visitors came to Hannover Messe 2016, 15,000 more than the 2014 event, which featured the same leading trade fairs as this year. Over 50,000 visitors traveled from abroad in 2016. This is around 25% more than in 2014, with new record figures from the USA and China. "Whether new technologies for factories or for energy systems - the approximately 5,000 American visitors found what they were looking for in Hannover and were able to make many new business contacts," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Messe, organizer of Hannover Messe. With 6000 visitors, China was able to further consolidate its position as the largest visitor nation after Germany. The trade fair organizer counted 30,000 visitors from Europe.
"Hannover Messe 2016 showed that the USA and Germany are on an equal footing when it comes to the digitalization of production and energy," says Köckler. "In order to connect products, machines, industrial companies and people across countries and continents, technologies and standards must be found that apply universally. The USA and Germany - but also the other leading industrial nations - have started the necessary dialog at the trade fair." According to Deutsche Messe, Hannover Messe 2016 fully lived up to this year's motto "Integrated Industry - Discover Solutions": Never before have so many concrete application examples for the digitalization of production been presented at one trade fair - from individual solutions on an existing machine to the networking of the entire production process, including data collection and evaluation in the cloud. "This is the breakthrough for Industry 4.0," summarizes Köckler. "Now the commercialization begins. The technologies are ready for use and will now move into the factories."
Hannover Messe 2017 will take place from April 24 to 28, 2017, and next year's partner country is Poland.
