Every year since 2004, Deutsche Messe has presented the Hermes Award to a technological innovation that has already been industrially tested and/or is in industrial application. An independent jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wahlster(DFKI) assesses the innovative strength of the submitted products based on their technical and economic implementation. The application deadline is February 22, 2017.

The Hermes Award is endowed with a PR package with a total value of around 100,000 euros. According to Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the Deutsche Messe Executive Board, this industry award not only brings great attention to the winner, but also to the nominated companies: "Anyone who makes it to the nomination stage is one of the most innovative companies at Hannover Messe," says Köckler. The nominees will be presented at the opening ceremony of the trade fair on April 23, 2017 and can be seen with their product in the Research & Technology area in Hall 2 during the trade fair.
