At the Hannover Messe, it was announced that the Hafner holding company from Oppenweiler, to which Murrelektronik also belongs, has acquired a 75% stake in Yacoub Automation. Murrelektronik expects the new constellation and the resulting synergies to further strengthen its expertise in the trend-setting issues of Industry 4.0. "Through the intensive cooperation with Yacoub, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Fraunhofer Institute campus in Berlin, Murrelektronik is strengthening its research and development activities in Germany," says Markus Schyboll, CEO of Murrelektronik. Ultimately, this should shorten product launch times (time-to-market). The bundling of core competencies also creates opportunities to open up new markets.
