New record level of incoming orders

Siemens has announced its figures for the third quarter of 2016. On the positive side, earnings in the industrial business increased by 20% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The negative: Things are anything but going well in the Process Industries & Drives business unit.

Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser: "We are making good progress with the implementation of our Vision 2020 and were also convincing in the third quarter, especially compared to the market."

As a result of major orders in Europe and America, Siemens ' order intake rose by 6% to €21.1 billion in the third quarter of 2016. Revenue grew by 5% to €19.8 billion in the same period. Excluding currency translation effects, order growth would have been as high as 10% and revenue would have increased by 9%, as Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser reported.
