SPS IPC Drives 2016
Siemens moves Mindsphere platform into focus
Under the motto "Driving the Digital Enterprise", Siemens will be presenting specific applications for the digital factory at SPS IPC Drives. A new special area is dedicated to the IoT ecosystem 'Mindsphere'.
True to this year's motto, Siemens will be presenting concrete applications in Hall 11: For example, a modeled pilot plant, which is intended to illustrate the performance of the 'Mechatronics Concept Designer' from Siemens PLM Software. In another exhibit, users can use the digital twin of a plant generated during engineering to simulate and optimize commissioning, operation and maintenance. Using the example of a pump application, the user can access a 3D virtual reality representation with 'Comos Walkinside', which visualizes engineering data. In addition to the exhibits, Siemens will also be presenting other new products at the trade fair:
New this year is the "Mindsphere Lounge": In the 400 m² area, visitors will be able to experience the 'Mindsphere' IoT ecosystem live and in a special atmosphere. According to Siemens, visitors will learn how easy it is to dock machines and production systems to 'Mindsphere' applications. The company sees the IoT ecosystem as the basis for applications and data-based services, for example in the areas of predictive maintenance, energy data management and resource optimization.
In addition to the main stand in Hall 11, Siemens will be represented at four other locations at SPS IPC Drives as part of special stands and participations. These are the "OPC Foundation Booth" (Hall 7, Booth 180), "Profibus&Profinet International" (Hall 2, Booth 220), "AS-International Association" (Hall 3, Booth 502) and the joint booth "Automation meets IT" (Hall 3a).
