SPS 2021 and Corona
2G conditions in Nuremberg
The SPS 2021 in Nuremberg will take place under 2G conditions. This means that only those who are fully recovered or fully vaccinated with vaccines approved in Germany will have access.
On November 6, the Bavarian state government responded to the pandemic situation in Bavaria and Germany and presented a new catalog of measures, which will also affect SPS from November 23 to 25 in Nuremberg. The industry meeting place for automation technology, the industry's clock generator, will take place under 2G conditions. Mesago is also exercising its right to set its own rules for the event and has therefore made FFP2 masks compulsory throughout the exhibition grounds for the duration of the event.
The hospital traffic light applies in Bavaria (see image and download below). If it switches to red, i.e. if more than 600 intensive care beds in Bavaria are occupied by Covid-19 patients, stricter corona conditions apply The current values can be found at the LGL.
This essentially means that the following has applied since November 9:
- 3G at the workplace and regular testing for ten or more employees in contact with other people,
- 3G plus for catering and body-related services,
- 2G extended to events, culture and sporting events.
The red traffic light phase means, among other things, that events may only be held as a 2G model for the safety of all participants. Accordingly, only fully vaccinated and recovered people are allowed to visit the trade fair; however, they are not required to wear a mask or keep their distance.
Vaccines approved in Germany
According to Mesago, checkpoints will be set up at the NürnbergMesse exhibition grounds to ensure compliance with the 2G rules. Participants are required to carry their vaccination or recovery certificate in German or English as well as an official photo ID to enable identity verification.
It should also be noted that under the new regulation, only people who have been vaccinated with vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) are considered fully vaccinated. In Germany these are:
- Comirnaty from Biontech/Pfizer,
- Covid-19 Vaccine Janssen from Janssen-Cilag International (Johnson&Johnson),
- Spikevax from Moderna,
- Vaxzevria from AstraZeneca.
