The third quarter was "solid", announces Joe Kaeser, CEO of Siemens. In concrete terms, this means sales growth, an increase in profit - but also a decline in order intake.

"Our global team delivered a solid quarter with revenue growth of 8% and a 7% increase in profit after tax," said Joe Kaeser. Overall, Siemens ' revenue increased to €21.4 billion compared to the third quarter of the previous fiscal year. The order backlog of the Industrial Business remains at 117 billion euros. However, incoming orders fell by 6% to 19.8 billion euros. The main reason for this was a very sharp decline in the volume of major orders from Power and Gas and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. On a comparable basis (excluding currency translation and portfolio effects), sales increased by 3%. Order intake fell by 9% on a comparable basis.
