Box PCs
Meets railroad standards EN50155 and EN45545
Syslogic has released a new version of the Railway Computer Compact 8, a fanless box PC specially developed for rolling stock applications.
It is suitable as a data logger, FIS computer, control computer, content server, communication computer or network video recorder. It complies with the railroad standards EN50155 and EN45545. The computer is approved for a temperature range of -40 to +85 °C at component level. It also offers power failure bridging up to 10 ms in accordance with EN50155, class S2, as well as full EN61373 conformity with regard to shocks and vibrations, EMC and electrical insulation requirements. The box PC has an electrically isolated power supply input and can be configured via wide-range inputs for DC voltages between 16.8 and 110 V, including the ignition controller. The built-in CPU boards are protected against condensation with a special coating. In addition, all electronic components are permanently soldered, allowing the box PC to withstand constant vibrations. The computer is passively cooled and has an industrial SSD memory instead of a hard disk. It has two Gigabit LAN, two RS232 and two USB ports as well as a DVI port as standard. M12 connectors are used for the LAN interfaces and for the power supply. The computers can be equipped with GPS and LTE/GSM/UMTS functions for positioning and data transmission. Connection to typical railroad BUS systems such as real-time Ethernet, TCN, WTB, Profinet or MVB is made via optional expansion cards.
