HMS takes over Beck IPC
On July 17, HMS Industrial Networks acquired all shares in the German company Beck IPC GmbH, based in Wetzlar. Beck IPC is a provider of technologies and solutions for embedded control and M2M communication.
With around 30 employees,Beck IPC is expected to generate net sales of six to seven million euros in 2018. At the heart of the Wetzlar-based company's product range is the 'IPC@CHIP', a compact, programmable embedded platform solution in the form factor of a chip. Designed for embedded IIoT applications, the platform can be used as a PLC, a communication controller or a combination of both. OEMs thus benefit from reduced development effort when creating an IIoT solution.
Beck IPC's portfolio also includes the com.tom gateways and the associated cloud portal. The gateway product family addresses factory and process automation. The cloud portal provides elements for an IIoT application.
"Beck IPC's knowledge and hardware and software products for IIoT, especially in the embedded area, are important building blocks to strengthen HMS' IIoT strategy," says Staffan Dahlström, CEO of HMS Industrial Networks. "Beck IPC's product and service offering complements our existing Anybus, IXXAT and eWON solutions and strengthens our position as a leading provider of communication solutions for industrial applications." Thomas Schumacher - who remains Managing Director at Beck IPC - adds: "Thanks to our complementary technologies, we can jointly offer interesting IIoT solutions and HMS' worldwide sales organization ensures a global market reach."
