J2 Innovations has been developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) for ten years and is known for its framework technology 'FIN' (Fluid Integration) both in the USA and internationally. "This acquisition complements our growing digital portfolio and helps us to take a leading role in the digital transformation by providing even better IoT solutions for our customers," explains Uwe Frank, CEO of Siemens Building Technologies Control Products and Systems.

With the acquisition, both partners plan to further expand J2's OEM business globally. To this end, new employees will be hired in the USA and new branches will be opened in Europe and Asia. J2 Innovations will operate as a legally independent entity and wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Industry, Inc.

'FIN' is a software framework that can operate, control and monitor devices and automation systems in buildings of any size. The system can be operated on a tablet or smartphone as well as on a desktop computer and installed on embedded systems, servers and in the cloud.
