With remote I/O and intrinsically safe Ethernet
The 'IS1+' remote I/O system from R. Stahl ensures reliable data transmission even in Zone 1 hazardous areas with end-to-end digital access to all process and asset management-relevant data from sensors and actuators.
The system enables integration via digital high-speed Ethernet networks. It uses intrinsically safe communication interfaces to enable extensions, conversions or maintenance work to be carried out during operation, even in potentially explosive atmospheres - without the need for complex approvals or shutdowns. The Profibus DP and Modbus RTU interface is based on the intrinsically safe RS485-IS standard. For the Ethernet protocols Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, HART-IP and OPC UA, the system uses the standardized Ex i version for 4-wire Ethernet with 100 Mbit/s 100BASE-TX-IS. According to the manufacturer, this means that the first Ex-certified solution is now available.
