Industrial-Grade DECT NR+ Gateway
With the "DECT NR+ Gateway," Stratum 9 is introducing what it claims is the first industrially viable gateway for real-time mobile applications.
The wireless module enables deterministic, low-latency wireless communication for mobile industrial systems and connects DECT-NR+ networks to existing Ethernet infrastructure. DECT NR+ is a non-cellular 5G technology and was developed specifically for reliable, scalable, and time-critical wireless communication. The gateway provides unified hardware for both the base station and mobile radio subscribers and is suitable for both time-critical and sensor-based applications (such as smart metering). The solution operates in the dedicated 1.9-GHz band. It uses a scheduled-access method with fixed transmission time slots, which prevents collisions and ensures that communication remains predictable. The gateway combines deterministic real-time communication with transparent Profinet/Profisafe transmission for mobile applications. It transmits Profinet and Profisafe without modification, protocol conversion, or manipulation.
