Bihl+Wiedemann
Integrated IO-Link master
Whereas a 4- or 8-port master with an Ethernet connection was previously essential for the integration of perhaps just a single IO-Link device, Bihl+ Wiedemann now offers ASi-5 modules with one, two or four IO-Link master ports in various versions.
If data only needs to be collected from individual, decentrally distributed IO-Link devices, the company has a cost-effective solution in the form of the BWU4088 and BWU4077 active distributors with one or two IO-Link master ports. Both modules are designed with IP67 protection, are supplied from AUX and can be easily connected to the yellow ASi cable as ASi-5 modules using piercing technology.
The IO-Link devices are connected via one or two M12 cable sockets. BWU 4088 has one Class B IO-Link port, BWU4077 has one Class A and one Class B port.
If data needs to be collected from more IO-Link devices in the field, there are suitable field modules with four IO-Link ports, depending on requirements. The BWU3819 and BWU3899 modules both have four Class A IO-Link ports, while the BWU4067 and BWU3897 modules are both equipped with two Class A IO-Link ports and two Class B ports.
While the first module is connected via the ASi profile cable, the second is connected via M12. The IO-Link devices are connected via 5-pin M12 sockets on all four modules. If the IO-Link devices to be integrated are located near the control cabinet, the BWU3843 control cabinet module in IP20 is ideal. The module also has four IO-Link ports, whereby the use as port A or port B can be defined via configurable terminals.
