Spectra
Ethernet switch with PoE functionality
Spectra is launching the IGS-624HPT industrial Ethernet switch, which offers a total of six Gigabit Ethernet ports, four of which support Po-E+ and two of which are designed as SFP ports.
The industrial Ethernet switch ensures fast and continuous data exchange, bridges large distances using fiber optic technology and also supplies PoE-PD devices with power thanks to the integrated PoE functionality (Power over Ethernet). Spectra is launching the IGS-624HPT industrial Ethernet switch for precisely these combined applications. With the help of suitable SFP modules, fiber optic connections of up to 2 km in multi mode and even up to 120 km in single mode can be established.
PoE+ technology, which provides power of up to 30 W per port, makes it possible to connect a large number of PD (Powered Device) devices. This means that not only simple IP cameras with a few watts, but now also power-hungry devices such as PTZ cameras with their motors for pan, tilt and zoom functions, high-quality 802.11n wireless access points or even thin client computers with touch panels can be conveniently supplied via PoE+.
The IGS-624HPT can be configured as a 6-port Ethernet switch or in 4+2 fiber optic redundancy mode via the built-in DIP switch. In 6-port mode, the switch treats all 6 ports equally. In 4+2 fiber optic redundancy mode, the two fiber optic ports are connected internally as a primary or backup link and thus form a fast and secure redundancy for highly critical Ethernet applications. If the primary port of a data packet is disrupted or otherwise disconnected, the data is automatically forwarded to the backup port.
The Ethernet switch can be mounted on a DIN rail or on the wall. Last but not least, the industrial requirements for reliability and robustness are ensured by a redundant power supply from 12 to 56 V(DC) and a robust metal housing as well as an alarm relay for signaling a power failure and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to 75 °C.
