Remote Access via Ethernet
The EtherCAN/3-FD from esd electronics is an Ethernet-to-CAN gateway that provides two galvanically isolated CAN FD interfaces. It enables remote access to CAN or CAN classic buses via Ethernet.
CAN-ID-based filtering and forwarding mechanisms within the device help reduce Ethernet bandwidth and CPU load. Additionally, two EtherCAN/3-FD modules can operate autonomously in bridge mode to create a securely encrypted TCP/IP connection between two CAN networks. A mechanical switch adds extra protection by allowing the web server to be deactivated, minimizing the device‘s attack surface and preventing unwanted reconfiguration.
