Bihl+Wiedemann is a technology leader in automation and safety technology with AS-Interface (ASi) and has been significantly involved in the development of all ASi generations. In 1995, the company received the first certificate for an ASi Master from AS-International e.V., the umbrella organization with more than 300 national and international partners. Bihl+Wiedemann was also a pioneer in the market launch of ASi-5 devices in 2019. The new ASi standard is backwards compatible with all previous ASi generations and now makes it possible to transfer larger data volumes much faster. This means, for example, that a wide variety of IO-Link devices can be easily and conveniently integrated and complex requirements in drive technology can be solved cost-effectively

In the field of functional safety with ASi Safety at Work, the Mannheim-based company has also been one of the leading providers for almost 15 years. The new ASi-5 Safety devices, with which many safe and non-safe signals can be used at just one address, are a major contributor to this.

In addition to its headquarters in Mannheim, Bihl+Wiedemann now has its own subsidiaries in Turkey, Denmark, the USA and China, as well as a production facility in Spain. In addition, the company is now represented by international sales partners in over 30 countries.
