Teamviewer
AI-supported maintenance for industrial plants
Teamviewer has introduced key enhancements to its industry solutions 'Agentless Access' and 'Assist AR'. The company is thus strengthening its AI-supported offering at the interface between operational technology (OT) and IT.
Agentless Access enables direct, zero-trust-based remote access to OT systems without the need to install software on the end device. Instead, access takes place via an upstream gateway, which was developed in cooperation with Bechtle and is delivered pre-configured with Agentless Access. The plug-and-play solution allows companies secure and scalable remote access as well as the management of industrial systems. The Bechtle partnership is complemented by a new version of Agentless Access with extended protocol support. This enables seamless and secure access even to older systems such as Windows XP. IT and OT teams can thus continue to manage these systems in isolation and still implement use cases such as remote PLC programming or remote access.
There is also an AI-powered extension to 'Assist AR' that enables service teams to capture expert knowledge to subsequently resolve issues faster and more consistently. By combining augmented reality with TeamViewer's AI agent Tia and its proprietary data pool, support agents receive real-time guidance on how similar issues have been resolved in the past during a video call. This means that expert knowledge is available exactly when and where it is needed.
