150 ms handoffs through turbo roaming
Moxa is launching a WLAN solution for automated transportation systems in goods logistics that offers wireless connectivity for mobile devices such as driverless vehicles.
The AWK-A series features the provider's "Turbo Roaming" technology, which enables roaming in milliseconds. The routers offer dual insulation to protect the power supply and antenna interfaces from electrical interference. Thanks to their anti-vibration design and extended operating temperature, they are suitable for harsh operating environments such as warehouses. According to the company, the device series was developed to guarantee the non-stop operation of AS/RS and AGV systems. The series supports the IEEE 802.11n standard with MIMO technology for wide wireless coverage and sufficient bandwidth with up to 300 Mbps data throughput. The IP68 housing ("AWK-4131A") and an operating temperature of -40 to +75 °C allow use in cold storage.
