Vision Components
Embedded vision combined with Raspberry Pi
With the VC MIPI Embedded Vision Kit from Vision Components and a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3 or 3+, a fully-fledged and industrial-grade embedded vision system can be set up quickly.
The core component is the 'VC Compute Module Interface (CMI) Board', onto which the RASP CM is simply plugged. The embedded vision kit contains a VC-MIPI camera module including software driver, an FPC-VC-MIPI cable (flexible circuit board) and an S-mount/M12 lens holder. The trigger functionality required for industrial vision applications is also already provided.
As standard, the bundle is equipped with the OV9281 image sensor from OmniVision with a resolution of 1 MP, 120 fps frame rate and global shutter. Alternatively, the entire range of VC-MIPI camera modules is available, all of which can be connected to the CMI board.
According to Vision Components, the 'VC CMI Board' offers an SD card slot for additional storage space, GigE and USB interfaces, a trigger input, a flash trigger output, digital interfaces (four inputs, four outputs), a display output and connections for two MIPI camera modules for optional stereo vision applications for maximum flexibility in OEM designs.
