Leo AI and Core Technology integrate AI analysis into CAD engineering
The AI platform Leo AI and the software provider Core Technologie are cooperating to automatically evaluate CAD data using artificial intelligence. The integration of the SDK 3D_Kernel_IO enables AI-supported analyses of technical data from over 40 CAD formats.
The AI-supported platform Leo AI from Cambridge (USA) and the Franco-German software manufacturer Core Technologie have announced a strategic partnership. The aim is to automatically evaluate CAD data using artificial intelligence (AI) by integrating the 3D_Kernel_IO software development kit (SDK).
By integrating the SDK, Leo AI can directly analyze native and standardized CAD files - including formats such as NX, Creo, Solidworks, CATIA, STEP and JT. This provides project managers with automated insights into materials, mechanics, coatings and design properties.
"Our collaboration with Leo AI is a good example of the use of artificial design intelligence in the future," says Armin Brüning, Managing Director of CoreTechnologie. "AI is only as powerful as the data it can access," adds Moti Moravia, CTO and co-founder of Leo AI. "By integrating CoreTechnologie's SDK, we have removed the last major barrier between raw 3D data and artificial intelligence. This opens up a new era where AI is actively involved in engineering workflows."
Technically, the solution is based on the CAD interoperability module 3D_Kernel_IO, which provides access to geometry, PMI data, features and assembly structures without a license for the original software. It supports over 40 formats, reads assemblies, metadata and design histories and can geometrically compare differences between models. The application is available for Windows, Linux, macOS and ARM.
Pilot projects in the aerospace and manufacturing sectors are already using the integration for classifications, risk assessments and change analyses.
