Dassault Systèmes takes over Ascon Qube technology
Dassault Systèmes is strengthening its strategy for virtual twins and integrating Ascon Qube technology into its Delmia portfolio. The acquisition is intended to provide companies with more flexible and AI-supported production control.
Dassault Systèmes has acquired the Ascon Qube technology from Ascon Systems Holding GmbH. The software supports the model-based planning, configuration and control of production processes with artificial intelligence. The aim is to replace conventional programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with software-defined automation at machine level.
Ascon Qube technology was developed to replace rigid, hard-coded control systems in production plants with an open, AI-supported platform. It enables manufacturer-independent interoperability between machines and systems and simplifies the adaptation of production lines to new products or changed quantities. The technology is cloud-based (SaaS) and allows automation processes to be digitally mapped, simulated and optimized in real time.
Ascon Qube technology will be integrated into Dassault Systèmes' 3DExperience platform and Delmia portfolio. It is designed to help increase production quality and flexibility while reducing downtime. In future, the technology will be provided as Experiences-as-a-Service (XaaS).
"The generative economy requires flexible, software-defined automation in order to reliably control quality, changeover times and delivery dates," the press release states.
